          Department: Class Three, Grade Eight
          Teacher: Yang Ting
          Date: March 16, 2010 下午第一節(jié)
          Objectives:
          1. Be able to get detailed information by listening task
          2. Learn to talk about changes in the life
          3. Encourage students to enjoy and cherish the present life
          Priciples: Improve students’ listening and speaking skills
          Difficult points: Talk about changes in the past and at present
          Materials: computer, recorder, pictures
          Teaching Procedures:
           Step 1 . Lead-in
                 Play a guessing game.
                 ( Show some photos of stars when they are young and guess who she/ he is.)
             Step 2. Speaking
               Task One : Talk about Millie’s changes
                  First, listen to the dialogue between Millie and Sandy.
                  Next, ask one student to talk about Millie’s changes.
                  Then, come to the following task.
               Task Two: Talk about students’ own changes
                  Present three pictures and ask students to use Millie and Sandy’s conversation as a model to talk about their own changes.
               Task Three: Talk about changes to our school
                  Show a video of our school and ask students to discuss the changes to our school.
               Task Four: Talk about changes to our hometown
          1. Show five past pictures and present pictures of Anqing. Then discuss and finish the table.
          2. Ask several groups to talk about changes to Anqing.
          3. Play a video of Anqing to make students know our hometown better.
           Step 3. Listening to changes to Starlight Town
          Task One: Look and say
               Look at the past picture and present picture of Starlight Town, and then try to describe them.
          Task Two: Listen and write
               Listen to the conversation and complete the lists in Part A1. Then check answers.
          Task Three: Have a discussion
               Ask students to compare the past picture of town with the present picture of town and discuss the following question.
                  “ Which one do you like better? Why?”
          Step 4. Summary
                Great changes have taken place and they make our life become better and better. Let’s enjoy our life and cherish the present life.
          Step 5. Homework
